Ramadan Decor

As my children have gotten older, so too has their understanding and abilities. They now understand the meaning behind religious holidays and auspicious months such as the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.

It was an absolute joy to decorate our home with their handmade decor this year.

I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Our dining room was transformed into craft central- glitter, glue, scissors, stickers, etc. The kids cut out moon and stars and decorated them..

When they were done decorating, I hung them on twine and formed a doorway banner.

These paper lanterns turned out so cute! They are decorated with rhinestone and foam stickers.

These goody bags were made for their friends and contained a little treat; meanwhile the dates were packaged in decorative bags and shared with neighbors, friends and family.

They also assisted in making the banner above which we are proudly displaying on our fireplace and they helped to blow balloons.
It is my hope, God willing that encouraging their participation will ultimately strengthen their relationship and attachment to their religion.

What a beautiful way to help your children understand about Ramadan. I always think the best way to help kids learn and appreciate something important is to get them involved. What amazing memories they’ll have and I hope it means Ramadan is always something they’ll look forward to every year. Ruth xx
