Schoolhouse |REVIEW

When I first started homeschooling, I remember spending countless hours researching curriculum, methods of teaching, pros and cons and actively seeking out support groups that I could lean on.  I still remember how excited I would become when meeting new homeschool parents on online forums, by chance and through my local homeschool groups.

Why, you might wonder? It wasn’t because I needed validation or someone to tell me I was doing the right thing but as home educators, it is easy to feel isolated and incredulously overwhelmed especially when we are just starting out.  Creating a tribe and forming connections with other homeschooling families is so important but sometimes difficult which is why I firmly believe that reading great blogs, magazines, and  accessing online resources can build us up as we embark on this journey and support us once we have dived in. For this reason, I find Schoolhouse to be an invaluable asset to homeschooling families!

As a parent, I also really believe it’s my responsibility to provide the best educational structure and environment for my children which requires me to continue to grow and learn as much as I can about how to homeschool to the best of my ability. Raising my children is a blessing I do not take for granted and providing them with the tools and readiness for success is a tremendous undertaking.

SchoolHouse offers a support system that offers a feeling of inclusion and makes parents and students alike foster that sense of belonging.  They provide lessons in all subject areas, by grade level and have designated teachers along the way. Although this website is faith based, the subject areas are secular and well taught. It also includes many schedule building and planning tools for parents and free printables. When the course is over, the child also gains a printable certificate to give them that sense of accomplishment for a job well done!

Unlike many homeschool forums that do not provide support for special needs homeschooling, this website has a Special Needs Educational Consultant who can help to identify your child’s learning style and the best way to help them succeed.

This website provides a one stop “shop” to all of your homeschooling needs, helping to make the process much less complicated.

Some examples of free printables that help to make learning easier and fun are found below:

* Please note, this website has a strong Biblical background but all subject areas are secular and I am in no way endorsing or adhering to the faith projected thereof.
