3 POWERFUL WAYS TO GET PAST SELF DOUBT!

Like the quote says, “Doubt kills more dreams than failure ever will.”

These are 3 powerful ways to get past that dreaded demon.

1) STOP IT
You have to stop it in its tracks and literally say out loud, “NO, we are not walking that path again.” This is the one time you are allowed to talk back…talk back to the demon of self doubt! This has to be the number one thing on the agenda of overcoming self doubt.

2) Talk to someone about it.
It’s no secret that keeping all the thoughts inside of your head only distorts and often exaggerates a situation. WHY? We are our biggest critics and we judge ourselves most harshly. Talking about these doubts can help change your perspective.

3) Remember you can correct things along the way.
We are constantly gaining new knowledge, honing our skillsets and correcting ourselves along the way. Nothing ever starts out perfectly! We have the opportunity to sharpen our skills, and correct things during this journey. So, when things don’t work out the first time, its alright…don’t beat yourself up about it. These failures can be an empowering experience if we allow ourselves to gain knowledge and use that experience and feedback to fuel our energies.

  1. I needed to read this tonight, Naimah! I’ve been doubting my abilities to do a couple of projects that are almost due–one a scholarly research paper and one a portrait of my niece for her mother for our Christmas celebration. As you say, I am just now telling myself to STOP IT! Because I know that I can do these things. Thank you. 🙂

  2. This is true..often times I doubt myself especially when my close ones don’t support me but realize I must first love what I am doing rather than expecting for support..

    1. This is absolutely true… we also have to first believe in ourselves with full conviction before anyone one believes in us.

      1. I think Success lies in learning to trust our Creator and then discovering our self and supporting our convictions , the others in our life are humans and know no better..
